Del Rey Oaks City Council Members

JERRY B. EDELEN, MAYOR: Elected to his third term on the City Council in 2008, Mayor Edelen is a native of Del Rey Oaks since 1957, serving on the Del Rey Oaks Planning Commission for one year, prior to being appointed to the Council in 1998. Mr. Edelen graduated from Monterey High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Long Island University. In 1992 he retired from an Army career as an Airborne Ranger Lieutenant Colonel. In 1995 he returned to Del Rey Oaks from overseas with his wife, Gloria, and two sons. Currently, he is an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and is the Campus Director of Chapman University College in Monterey.

KRISTIN A. CLARK, VICE MAYOR: Appointed to fill a vacant seat in November 2002, she is serving her second term. Council Member Clark is a life long resident of the Monterey Peninsula. Prior to her appointment to the City Council, she served on the Del Rey Oaks Planning Commission and is an active member of the Del Rey Oaks Citizens Action Committee and the Del Rey Oaks Neighborhood Emergency Response Team. Ms. Clark has dedicated herself to responding to the needs of the public and the city. She works for a local dentist office, as the Payroll and Accounts Payable Administrator. She and her husband, Jim, have lived in Del Rey Oaks for the past ten years and have one daughter, Courtney, who is a sophomore in college.

JEFF CECILIO, COUNCIL MEMBER: Jeff Cecilio was elected to the City Council in 2006 after serving on the Planning Commission for two years. Born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula, he has been a Del Rey Oaks resident since 1991. He lives with his wife, Jaymie, and two young daughters- both of whom were born in the city of Del Rey Oaks.

Mr. Cecilio studied law enforcement after graduating from Monterey High School in 1981. He has been a lifelong entrepreneur, currently running two businesses in the Monterey County.

Mr. Cecilio proudly serves on the City Council and has been an instrument of positive change. He is committed to the City of Del Rey Oaks and its’ residents and to working with city employees and fellow Council Members, as we embark on new development and opportunities expanding our community.

DENNIS G. ALLION, COUNCIL MEMBER: Mr. Allion is a retired US Navy Supply Corps Commander. He and his wife Theresa have lived in Del Rey Oaks since 1993. Mr. Allion held executive positions at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California from 1995 to 2000.

From 2000 to 2002 he was the Business Manager for MeduNet, a Saudi Arabian company providing Internet, hospital information systems and telemedicine services to hospitals in Saudi Arabia. From 2002 to 2008 he was employed as a Senior Program Manager at CTB/McGraw-Hill LLC in Monterey, California.

Mr. Allion was a member of the City of Del Rey Oaks Planning Commission for five years and was elected to the Del Rey Oaks, City Council in November 2006. He is a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

MIKE ZUCCARO, COUNCIL MEMBER

Mr. Zuccaro was appointed to fill a vacant seat in October 2009. A native of Sunnyvale, CA, he has lived on the Monterey Peninsula since 1988. Prior to his appointment to the City Council, he served on the Planning Commission for 10 years and was a member of the Del Rey Oaks Citizen Action Group for several years.

Mr. Zuccaro holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is an architect for California State Parks. He and his wife, Crescenda, have lived in Del Rey Oaks for more than 12 years and they have a young son, Alexander.
